| What is the role of energy cooperatives in the Dutch energy transition? How do energy cooperatives contribute to a fair energy transition with a crucial role being played by civilians, both in The Netherlands and in Europe? In what way can students help these cooperatives to make a bigger impact? At the ‘Summer Challenge Energy cooperatives’ 5 teams of students will work on real life cases of Dutch energy cooperatives during one week (8-12 July). At the Summer Challenge Meet Up on the 9th of July, two inspiring speakers will highlight the crucial role that energy cooperatives play in the energy transition. Line up: Siward Zomer (president at cooperative Energie Samen) will highlight the number and the variety of energy cooperatives, the impact they already have and the challenges they face. Besides that, they also help realising a fair distribution of gains and losses in the energy system.
